Let’s Talk Bookish: Balancing Blogging and Life

Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well! Today I’m back with another Let’s Talk Bookish, a weekly meme hosted by Aria @ Book Nook Bits. This week’s topic is all about how to balance book blogging with other responsibilities.

In all honesty, I don’t think I’m very good at balancing blogging and life. For me, the largest thing that prevents me from having more time to blog is school. I generally am very busy during the school year and I don’t prioritize blogging much. If I do have free time, I usually spend it reading, watching TV, or with my friends.

I compensate for the fact that I don’t have a lot of time to read and blog by writing a larger amount of shorter posts, especially those that aren’t related directly to books I’ve read. This is why I publish a large amount of TBR and book haul posts, because I can write them even if I haven’t read in a while. That’s another reason why I love participating in Let’s Talk Bookish as it allows me to discuss bookish things and post regularly without having to read as much. I also try to schedule posts when I have more free time so I don’t have to worry about writing a new post when I’m busy.

Blogging can be a useful reminder for me to take care of myself during the school year. Because I prioritize school and extracurriculars over blogging, whenever I do make time to blog it is really nice. Blogging is a great way for me to be creative and it encourages me to read and interact with people. I find it is a great way to escape from stress.

The entire academic year gets in the way of blogging for me, but it does so particularly in the spring semester. That is when I usually have the most going on at school, giving me even less time to read and blog.

What do you think? How do you balance blogging with your other commitments? Do you have any tips for time management? Let me know in the comments below! I would love to hear from you!
