Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well! Today I’m back with another Let’s Talk Bookish, a weekly meme hosted by Aria @ Book Nook Bits. This week’s topic is up to each blogger, so I’m doing a prompt I missed earlier this month about TBR (To-Be-Read) piles. And the short answer is yes, I do get overwhelmed by my TBR pile. All of the time.

I keep track of the books I want to read in two primary ways. The first is my Goodreads Want-To-Read shelf, which has all of the books that I think may be interesting to read. I try to keep the list under 200 books, but I have to edit it periodically to keep it that way. The other way I track the books that I want to read is that I have a shelf on my bookshelf. If I have any books that I’ve bought or have been given to me that I haven’t read yet, I put them on the shelf. This allows me to physically see what I need to read next.
However, I often have trouble picking out books that I want to read. This often because my physical TBR is made up of mostly fantasy and heavier contemporary books, but I often want to read lighter books because I am often really tired from school when I read. When I have a weekend or break where I’m not very busy, I am more likely to get through more of my physical TBR.
My TBR feels overwhelming a lot of the time. There are constantly new books coming out that seem so interesting, plus I learn about more backlist books all of the time. My physical TBR is particularly overwhelming because I see it all the time on my bookshelf and I’m constantly reminded of the fact that I haven’t read the books yet. However, I like the fact that I always have something new to read on my bookshelf. I hope to one day get through all of the books on my bookshelf and all of the books on my TBR list, but I know that’s a very long-term goal.

What do you think? How do you organize the books you want to read? Do you ever get overwhelmed by your TBR pile?

Never overwhelmed
Physical TBR List- that is one that keeps on wanting to grow (I know some still need to be in there); the ones that are currently missing are part of series I only have a piece of or not available for kindle. This one consists of easy and hard books
Kindle TBR List- that one doesn’t really have a TBR pile (much harder to find books especially as MOST are from library). It is hard to even know what to look for in this group of books
I also have a lot more books on my physical TBR than on my Kindle TBR! It’s for a similar reason, because I use my Kindle almost exclusively for library books, so if I want to read a book, I can’t keep it on my TBR for that long because I have a limited time to read it!
