Hello everyone! Happy 2023! I hope you are all doing well! I’m back with a post about 2022 and my plans for the future. 2022 was pretty disappointing when it came to reading and blogging, but I’m hoping that will change this year!

Sadly, 2022 was not a great year for reading. I planned to read 100 books and only read 46. While I know that numbers don’t really matter when it comes to reading, I didn’t enjoy many of the books I read either. In fact, I only rated 3 of them 5 stars. Most of the rest of them fell flat for me. This has been hard for me because reading is usually the one thing I can turn to, and being underwhelmed by the books I read was disappointing.
However, I did accumulate quite a few books in 2022 that I haven’t gotten around to reading yet. I’m hoping that they (and numerous other books that have been on my physical TBR for years) will be books that I enjoy. I didn’t have a lot of time to read in 2022, but I’m hoping that this spring semester of 2023 will not be as busy and I’ll have more time to read.
Also, in case you’re wondering why I haven’t posted a “best books of 2022” post yet, it’s because some of the books that I really enjoyed were HarperCollins titles, and currently the union is on strike for over 40 days. I am holding off on this post until they get a fair contract! You can check out their Instagram (linked here)/other social media for instructions on how best to support them.
My goals for 2023 are:
- Read 100 books
- Actually read books on my physical TBR
- Try out more audiobooks (so I can crochet and read at the same time!)
- Read more adult books and classics

2022 was also not great for blogging. I was definitely not very good at keeping up with a schedule! I say it every year, but I do hope this changes in 2023. I am planning on scheduling things in advance and hopefully I can keep up with it during school. Additionally, reading more will help me do this as it will encourage me to write more reviews, participate in tags, etc.
I am also planning on doing more with my Bookstagram! I go on it a lot, but I don’t post very often, and I’m hoping for that to change as well this year.
My goals for 2023 are:
- Edit blog design – while I like the theme of my blog and most things about the way it looks, there are some things I hope to change!
- Blog hop! Interact with people!
- Keep up with a schedule

I didn’t write a lot in 2022, but I really enjoyed what I did write. Hopefully I can write more in 2023 and actually finish a project!
In terms of my life more generally, 2022 has certainly had its ups and downs. The spring of 2022 was really hard for me, mostly relating to school stuff, but I did have an amazing summer! The fall/winter hasn’t been too bad either. I’ve been able to connect with my friends more and I just had a truly relaxing winter break from school where I was able to spend lots of time with my family.
I taught myself how to crochet over the summer, which was probably my favorite thing that I did in 2022. I’ve been making all sorts of fun plushies for my friends and family and I’ve even attempted to make a sweater (I have yet to finish, though). I’ve been thinking that I might blog about crocheting this year, which could be fun!
My goals for 2023 are:
- Journal! I am awful at keeping up with journals, but I hope I can this year.
- Crochet more
- Spend more time with my friends and family

How was your 2022? What did you read and/or write about? Did you pick up any new hobbies? What are your goals for 2023? Let me know in the comments! I would love to hear from you! Happy New Year!
