June Wrap Up/July Plans

Hello everyone! I can’t believe June is over! It feels like it went by so fast yet so slow (which is how quarantine has felt for me in general). I mostly spent this month reading, blogging, writing, and going to virtual theatre camp (which ended up being so much fun).

I have read 15 books this month, which is a little fewer than last month, but still a lot!

Here are some of the best books that I read this month:

This month I did my first book tags, which is really exciting for me! I did the Mid-Year Book Freakout Tag and I was also nominated for the Mystery Blogger Award. I will have more tags in the coming weeks too!

In terms of writing, I challenged myself to write one thousand words a day, something I kept up with throughout the end of May and all of June. I have over 40,000 words, and it feels really good to accomplish something like that.

In general, I have been able to work on a lot of things for myself this month, not just in writing and blogging. I have been redoing my room (hopefully I’ll get more bookshelf space, yay!) which has been pretty fun.

Here are the books that I want to read in July (most are coming out this month too!):

  • Felix Ever After by Kacen Callender (This was on last month’s list, but my library hasn’t gotten it yet so I’ll probably have to buy it)
  • When You Were Everything by Ashley Woodfolk (I ordered this book, but it has been backordered, so I’m hoping I’m able to read it sometime this month)
  • Let’s Talk About Love by Claire Kahn (I ordered this book, it should be coming in sometime in the next week)
  • Dress Coded by Carrie Firestone
  • The Voting Booth by Brandy Colbert
  • 10 Things I Hate About Pinky by Sandhya Menon
  • Today Tonight Tomorrow by Rachel Lynn Solomon

How was your June, reading wise? What books do you plan on reading in July? Have you read any of the books I’ve mentioned? Let me know in the comments!

  1. 15 books, so many! I think I read about 10 books in June. The Black Flamingo is on my reading list for this month – really looking forward to it because it seems to be very well loved. I’m curious about Let’s Talk About Love though because I’ve heard mixed things about it. I want to try give it a go but I have so many books to read at the moment I probably won’t get to it for a while.

    • I really hope you like The Black Flamingo! Fifteen books is kind of a lot, but I’ve had tons of time since school is over and I’m still stuck at home. I am definitely very interested to read Let’s Talk About Love, my copy of it just arrived, so I’ll probably read it in the next couple of weeks.

      • Well I look forward to reading your review on Let’s Talk About Love, if you plan on reviewing it – I have told myself to stop buying books until I catch up on what I have but then again, I’m easily persuaded by reviews to buy books!
